Commonwealth Rural R&D for Profit Program

We are pleased to report that one of the projects submitted via FWPA for this program has been approved for Commonwealth Government funding – ‘Lifting farmgate profitability through high value modular agroforestry’, it is being led by CSIRO Land and Water with additional cash contributions from FWPA, plus, Greening Australia Forico and Dairy Australia with a Commonwealth contribution.

The project was officially launched by Minister Joyce at the ASH Heyfield Mill, on 19 May. As the lead RDC, FWPA will enter into a funding agreement with the Commonwealth and provide management support to the project.

A second project, led by the Cotton RDC, ‘Accelerating precision agriculture to decision agriculture’ was also approved for funding.  FWPA committed $50k to the project.  Cotton RDC will be the lead agency for contracting.

It is anticipated that the third round of funding under this program will be announced towards the end of this year.
