TimberUPdate mini-magazine focusses on the code change
TimberUPdate, available in both printed and digital versions, is a 12pp mini-magazine that features background articles and interviews in which specifiers, including architects, building designers, engineers, quantity surveyors and building inspectors discuss the impending code change. It also references the effects of similar code change in international markets and promotes the increasing adoptions by local governments of ‘wood encouragement’ procurement policies.

Raising awareness at the Green Cities Conference
A ‘highlight’ of the Green Cities Conference was a modular 8 level display constructed from interlocking plywood panels. The structure was designed to communicate the new 25m height in timber framing or massive timber, as a result of the code change. The display and associated promotional materials were well-received by the audience of property developers, representatives from major construction companies and other senior property industry personnel.
WoodSolutions was a major sponsor of the events and Tony Arnel, Global Director Sustainability, Norman Disney & Young spoke on the topic Does timber high-rise equal high risk?
Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB)
Information about the code changes relating to timber framing and massive timber were part of the official NCC National Seminars, directed at building and construction compliance professionals and held in various state locations.
