Discover how researchers aim to minimise the adverse impacts of bushfires on forestry

This episode of WoodChat showcases several interesting and important forestry-related projects developed in response to the catastrophic bushfire season of 2019/20.

Among the interviewees is Dr Tim Smith of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, who discusses an extensive project looking to create a national network of industry and research fire expertise and generate salvage management options for harvest and storage operations following a fire event.

You can listen to the this episode now on SoundCloud and iTunes.

And make sure you keep an ear out in January for another episode of WoodChat, this time focusing on ‘smart technology’, and a selection of some exciting projects focusing on the fusion of forestry and tech. From artificial intelligence to genomics and drones, this is one you won’t want to miss!
