Multiple brands benefit sector

FWPA has a number of brands promoting wood. Our world-leading WoodSolutions website is used by building specifiers. We educate consumers on the benefits of wood with our Wood. Naturally Better campaign (run in partnership with Planet Ark). And teachers can access resources for students about our sustainable industry via ForestLearning.

You may have noticed the presenter of Grand Designs Australia, architect Peter Maddison, singing the praises of wood on TV and social media last year.

No specific timber product brands were mentioned, just the benefits of wood as material and as a store of carbon – for life.

The ads are a product of our partnership with Planet Ark and feature the brand Wood. Naturally Better – which FWPA established in order to promote the advantages of wood to consumers. (view ads here)

New advertisements, also featuring Peter Maddison, will run on commercial TV and social media later this year, and will be created with the benefit of FWPA’s annual consumer research.

However, Wood Naturally Better is not the only brand FWPA owns and leverages to help promote the sector.

The world’s most-visited wood promotion website in the English-speaking world, WoodSolutions, is the vehicle by which FWPA promotes wood to building specifiers. The website has more than 600,000 visitors and 1.8 million page views a year, with over 50,000 documents downloaded!

The site hosts technical design guides, species information, presentations, videos, case studies, expert Q&As, an event calendar and a supplier directory.

FWPA is constantly adding to the resources available via WoodSolutions – and welcomes ideas for new research and content from members and other industry stakeholders. 

Another great website FWPA is proud to have established is ForestLearning. It offers teachers resources such as lesson plans, information on forestry careers and school activities.

Maintained in partnership with the Australian Forest Education Alliance, the information is developed in collaboration with the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority to ensure it fits within educational standards.

Teachers can deliver the information across a range of learning areas including science, technology, history, geography and mathematics.
