New timber educational materials for university engineering students

Research identified the lack of suitable resources as an impediment to educating engineering students about the use of timber. A new series of video lectures, The Fundamentals of Timber Engineering, presented by Geoff Boughton has been created to address this need.

Feedback to date from the educational community has been excellent.

Comprising five modules, each with sub-sections, covering topics ranging from the nature of timber to connections and the performance of timber elements in various situations, this new resource will help inspire the next generation of engineers to use more timber.

The new materials are currently being distributed through the WoodSolutions education program, an activity that consults with tertiary educators and institutions to develop materials that suit their academic requirements.
