In February 2017, the Gottstein Trust will be running its 3rd Forest Science Course, in partnership with the Institute of Foresters of Australia (IFA) and the University of Melbourne, located at Creswick.
This week long Forest Science Course provides an understanding of Australian forest management, the economics of wood production and other forest services. The course will cover both planted and natural forests and will provide an appreciation of environmental issues and international strategic trends in the forestry industry.
It is presented through a range of different methods including lectures, interactive panel and practical sessions and has a full day field excursion that exposes participants to a range of forestry activities and philosophies.

The course is particularly relevant to those who are new to the forest and wood products industry, or who may have no formal forestry training, but are interested in understanding why things happen as they do in the industry.
Previous course attendees have found this course extremely valuable and have returned to their roles with an enhanced understanding of the complexities and importance of the forestry industry, both within Australia and internationally.
In order to facilitate exchange and discussion, the course has limited numbers with many applicants already. Early booking, before Christmas, is advised to avoid disappointment.
