Summary

This report presents findings from Private Native Forestry (PNF) Field Day Workshops delivered in 2021 in partnership with Local Land Services NSW. The workshops were designed to support landholders new to PNF or considering participation in PNF by providing clear information.

The report focused on three field days held in Grafton, Wauchope and Kyogle. These field days provided opportunities to learn more about forest management, productivity enhancement, managing environmental values, forest assessments, and an overview of PNF rules and regulations in NSW. Participants completed pre- and post-event surveys to assess how their level of understanding has changed as a result of participating in the field days.

Results showed strong positive outcomes, with most participants reporting vastly improved understanding of forest management following the training.

The success of the training package and positive participant feedback highlighted the value of field days across NSW in building knowledge of forest management practices and the PNF regulatory framework. Acknowledgement of funding

This report was commissioned by the North East NSW Regional Forestry Hub with funding from the Australian Government, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
