Project Details

Project CodePNC616-2223
Project Start Date1 October 2023
Completion Date30 June 2026

This project will improve investment decision-making and adaptive management practices. This will be done by optimising growth (wood and carbon) and water use of plantations under current and future climates.

  • The project will provide forest growers with tools to easily predict potential productivity and yield gaps. It will indicate adaptative actions to close yield gaps and reduce risks of production failure for the most planted species in Tasmania.
  • The project will identify and quantify the factors affecting potential productivity and assess how future climate will affect productivity in current plantations and for areas of potential expansion.

Program:

This research relates to the following FWPA investment plans: Plantation Nutrition Investment Plan, Plantation Silviculture Investment Plan, Resource Modelling & Remote Sensing Investment Plan, Damage Agents Investment Plan and Impact of fire investment plan (further detail available here)
