The ‘Understanding the threat that Brown Needle Disease (BND) poses to pine plantation production in Australia and risks to domestic and international markets (QDAF)’ project examines the nature and distribution of the recently detected exotic pathogen Pseudocercospora pini-densiflorae and threat CND poses to Australian softwood plantations. Diagnostic protocols will be evaluated, disease distribution determined, and susceptibility of planting stock assessed.
A recently developed diagnostic protocol will be evaluated, surveillance to determine the distribution of the disease conducted, current planting stock screened for susceptibility, and potential trade implications identified.
