Forest and Wood Products Australia is undertaking a study to describe the economic contribution of the forest and wood products industry to South Australia and Victoria. The study will be used to communicate the contribution of the industry to the community, government and other stakeholders and will be publicly available.
This study will provide an important update to previously commissioned and widely referenced FWPA socioeconomic reports on Victoria and the Green Triangle.
A report will be produced for each state that demonstrates the economic significance of the industry. The South Australia report will include a case study of the structural timber supply chain within the Green Triangle to demonstrate the economic contribution of downstream supply chain activities. The economic contribution will be reported in terms of value-add and employment and will be presented by region for the 2021/22 financial year.
BDO EconSearch have been contracted to deliver the study and will shortly undertake a survey and series of interviews with forest and wood products industry businesses in South Australia and Victoria. Completing interviews with relevant businesses is crucial for accurately describing the industry’s contribution. The BDO EconSearch interview team will contact businesses over the coming weeks to request participation in a confidential interview.
BDO EconSearch respect your privacy and confidentiality and will not share your individual information beyond the research team. They will only publish aggregated non-confidential statistics.
