Forest and Wood Products Australia Limited (FWPA) is an unlisted public company (limited by guarantee) that provides national promotion, research, development and extension services for the Australian forest and wood products industry.
FWPA collaborates with government and industry stakeholders to determine strategy, invest in effective and relevant RD&E and deliver programs designed to grow the market for forest and wood products, increase productivity and profitability across the value chain and ensure positive environmental and social outcomes.
FWPA is committed to supporting the industry to be collaborative, innovative, sustainable and competitive.Company members are wood processors, forest growers, and importers of wood products. It is a not-for-profit industry services company funded by the Federal Government, member levies and research grants.
FWPA is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to its skills-based Board at their upcoming AGM. While the current Board is well balanced, there is interest for individuals with downstream experience in the design and construction sector, with an emphasis on some or all of the following areas:
– building materials with a sound knowledge of timber and wood products
– built environment expertise
– sustainability and environment
– building standards and regulation
– renewable and waste to energy technologies
– demand side and energy efficiency
– circular economy with interests in reuse, recycling and waste management strategy

An independent Director Selection Committee will consider proposals from candidates and recommend to the AGM a person for nomination for appointment as a Director. The Committee is required to ensure that the nomination will result in a balanced, skills-based Board.
