Published Date

February 2011

A large amount of research has been undertaken in native forests in Victoria over the last fifty years by Government Departments, Universities and some private studies.  Some has been published and continues to be readily available, however, there is a large amount of information in internal publications and files that are largely known only by the individuals who undertook the R&D.  With Departmental re-structures and consequent staff movements, valuable information is being lost at a disturbing rate.

The current project updated the work (from 2005 to present); analysed whether there are any significant and important gaps in research; and suggested a system for protection of data/information that is independent of any specific Department. The report is published on the FWPA website.
