Purpose
This project established a collaborative framework for integrated pest management across Tasmania’s forest industry. It aimed to improve pest control through shared monitoring, coordinated responses and strategic communication among stakeholders.
Summary
This project developed a collaborative model for integrated pest management in Tasmania’s forest industry. It established a steering committee, promoted shared data and communication, and aligned pest control practices with regulatory expectations. The framework encourages reduced chemical use, supports research, and improves biosecurity through coordinated monitoring and response. By fostering cooperation among forest managers, advisors, and stakeholders, the model aims to enhance forest health, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability across the sector.

The project benefits the Forest and Wood Products Industry by improving pest control through coordinated monitoring, shared data, and reduced reliance on chemicals. It strengthens collaboration across companies, supports regulatory compliance, and enables more strategic, cost-effective responses to pest threats using integrated pest management principles.
