A new highly innovative and collaborative market implementation project to regain residential timber market share, using prefabricated cassette floor systems delivered by the frame and truss sector, has now been underway for 12 months. Excellent progress has been made in developing delivery systems, technical skills and capacity and a number of key projects have now been delivered clearly illustrating the benefits of the system.
A detailed cost study and value proposition of the system has also now been completed by an independent Quantity Surveyor clearly illustrating the cost competitive nature of the systems on different sites.
This presentation will highlight the activities and lessons learnt from the first technical market development phase, and outline the proposed activities over the next 12 months as the program moves into its final promotional market implementation phase.

Alastair is a director of TPC Solutions (Aust) Pty Ltd, a consultancy specialising in advice on the use and impact of building and construction materials. Alastair is a structural engineer who spent ten years with the Timber Promotion Council prior to its closure in 2005.
Today he delivers a range of programs for Wood Products Victoria and Wood Solutions – an industry initiative, resourced by FWPA, designed to provide information on timber and wood products to professionals and companies involved in building design and construction.
He has extensive experience in the design of timber structures and a particular interest in the design and development of new and innovative construction systems and environmentally sustainable building materials
