Forest & Wood Products Australia is pleased to welcome Marina Milić to the role of Forest Research Project Manager.
Marina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Wood Processing Engineering from the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and is certified by Engineers Australia.
Since moving to Australia 10 years ago, Marina has built extensive experience across the sector, including the past eight years at AKD in national technical roles spanning research, process improvement, quality, compliance and technology adaptation. This background has given Marina a practical understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the industry, particularly in plantation softwoods, as well as experience across technical, industry and advisory settings.
Marina joins FWPA with a strong value chain perspective. Through work in timber treatment, structural performance, quality control and research and development at the mill end, Marina has seen how closely raw resource characteristics shape final product outcomes.
In this role, Marina will bring that downstream perspective to upstream forestry research, helping ensure projects remain grounded in commercial processing realities and aligned with end-market needs.
