Summary
The Gippsland 30-Year Strategy Implementation Plan 2024–2027 was developed to help deliver the region’s long-term goals for fibre security, industry innovation, reliable information, and forestry expansion. The plan aligned projects and actions with five Commonwealth Government strategic priorities: resource security, production growth, climate change mitigation, workforce capacity, and sustainable forest management.
Stage one of the plan, completed in 2023, identified emerging priority projects such as strengthening First Nations engagement, improving mid-rotation management, reviewing published literature, exploring low-emission building materials, and assessing future markets. Stage two (2024–2027) focused on delivering nine key projects that supported the long-term strategic implementation of the 30-year strategy. These projects covered themes of resource management and security, infrastructure and processing innovation, climate mitigation, workforce development, and industry promotion. The final stage is the evaluation of the suitability and scope of potential future projects.
Overall, the plan provides a structured framework to guide actions under the 30-year strategy and support strategic priorities.
