Summary
The South East NSW Forestry Hub held a Stakeholder Workshop in March 2025 which brought together 25 participants to consider how South East Forestry could continue to flourish in a productive and sustainable future. The workshop focused on developing a shared long-term vision, reviewing the current state of the industry, and identifying priorities for the next 2.5 years.
Participants described a shared vision of resilient forests, a thriving forestry industry, and stronger community engagement and trust. The Hub’s existing objectives were reviewed, with participants suggesting improvements to the consultation, mapping, and investment objectives. New objectives were proposed, including a shared vision, increased community awareness and engagement, industry growth, and forest management.
Priority actions included a clear vision and purpose, improving information flow, strengthening communication and collaboration, expanding research, and developing a management strategy. Feedback was positive, with participants valuing the discussions and networking opportunities and noting the workshop’s potential to guide future industry direction.
