Presented by Dean Goble, Carnot, Wednesday 28 August, 2013.
Based on a recent Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA) sponsored research report (project PNB280-1112) this webinar discusses opportunities for using sawmill residues for those aspiring to get the most value from each log. Two broad categories encompass the many options: energy products such as solid, liquid and gaseous fuels, which ultimately end up as heating, electricity or motive power; and non-energy products such as chemicals, food additives, engineered wood products, composts and, in recent times, sequestered carbon. Aspects that impact investment decisions, such as capital and operating costs, product value and technology readiness, are discussed and quantified as far as possible.
